 | Castérino Snow Trail See you on 12 February 2012 in the cross-country ski resort of Castérino for an 11-km Trail on packed snow. |
With the Mercantour National Park and the Vallée des Merveilles as a backdrop, the starting gun will be fired at 11am. No special equipment required.
Various events will be organised before and after the race, notably for children. And the Kid Raid 2012 will be held at the same time.
Registration fee: €15 until 1 February, then €20 until midday on 10 February.
Come and enjoy the resort of Castérino with your children. 7- to 14-year-olds can join in the Kid Raid: a series of 7 activities to score as many points as possible and participate in the grand finale.
Programme:
Biathlon: rifle shooting, identifying animal footprints (tbc), snowball throwing, orienteering, ARVA, sledging, snowshoe sprint.
The equipment will be provided by the organisers: sledges, documentation, snowshoes...
The principle:
The children score points in 7 different activities. Precision, analysis, agility and speed will all be required. Scores are totalled to determine the winners.
Events open to the public all weekend:
• Introduction to biathlon with Xavier Blond, former member of France's Olympic team (Raphaël Poiré's partner). Free entry all day long to try this Olympic sport with competition equipment.
• Paragliding demonstration by fifty or so paragliders from different clubs.
• Huskies, …etc.
